Fusco is an excellent wine made in limited quantities from a selection of the best Merlot grapes from higher vineyards on the hills of Nimis. The accurate grape-drying and the careful vinificatoin are followed by aging in oak barriques for over 18 months. Its shades of ruby red with garnet tinges charm us, the intensity of its mature, complex nose amazes us, its soft, elegant tannins capture us. The wine opens with a multi-layered aromatic set, merging typically herbaceous scents and intense perfumes of red berries, in a fine, clean and elegant complexity. It is structurally balanced, warm, smooth, appropriately tannic; La Roncaia Fusco is an engrossing and long-lasting wine. They are tasty with red meat or savory first courses.
