Paloma

The Paloma is a refreshing and popular Mexican cocktail known for its simplicity and the zesty flavours.

Crafted with tequila, usually blanco or reposado, and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, it offers a balanced mix of the agave spirit's earthy notes with the natural tartness of grapefruit.  A dash of lime juice adds an extra layer of citrusy tang.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Tequila (usually blanco or reposado)
  • 15ml Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • Grapefruit soda, chilled, to top
  • Garnish: Lime wheel
  • Garnish: Salt rim (optional)

Steps

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a highball glass, and dip the rim in salt (optional).
  2. Add the tequila and lime juice to the glass, and fill with ice.
  3. Top with grapefruit soda, and stir briefly and gently to combine.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel.
