Description
This Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in November of 1990 at the Macallan Distillery and then aged for over 30 years in a first fill oloroso sherry hogshead. In 2020 the whisky was bottled a staggering 56.1% ABV. The resulting spirit was deemed extraordinary to the extent that the team behind East Asia Whisky Company decided to include it in the prestigious Japan Series –a collection for the most discerning consumer market in the world –only whiskies with a point score of 90 or above are selected for this exclusive and highly coveted and collectable series.
Using only the finest FSC®and Rainforest Alliance certified rosewoods, this release comes with a custom gift box and presentation case that was designed with laser-etched Bamboo leaves and branches in the box against the backdrop of a flowing river. The laser etching was calibrated to the perfect temperature and speed such that the naturally reddish wood bleeds into a dark crimson red. The rosewoods used are so dense that they are commonly used for musical instruments due to their gorgeous characteristics that vary from violet to dark red to brown with frequent dark stripes and pronounced figure. This wood is very hard, heavy and dense with a tight grain. Frequently used in fine furniture and cabinetry, flooring, musical instruments and specialty items such as violin bows, billiard cues, pool tables, and turnings.
