Château d’Issan is a Third Growth of the 1855 Imperial Classification, however, it did not need the famous recognition to establish its reputation. This was already made back in the 12th century, when it was reported to have been served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henri Plantagenet, future King of England on 18th May 1152. We are proud of our long history. Château d’Issan is primarily the story of a legacy handed down from generation to generation and the rekindling of the quest for excellence at every transmission.
