The Sauvignon Blanc grapes were harvested from selected vineyards in Clarksburg, Lodi and other areas of the Central Valley. This location, at the mouth of the Sacramento Delta, provides a unique geographical advantage, creating beautifully warm days and cool, breezy nights which foster ideal weather conditions for perfect fruit ripeness.
A warm and dry spring and summer brought on an early harvest of clean, ripe Sauvignon Blanc. The grape canopies were managed to allow just the right amount of sunlight on the fruit. Warm days resulted in optimum ripening for the fruit late in the season.
The winemakers hand chose the yeast and used a cool fermentation process to maintain the delicate aromas. Cool storage in tank preserved the fresh aromas and flavours. The fresh cool fruit, cool fermentation conditions and just the right care and handling resulted in a delicious wine.
