The most famous of Irish single malts is mainly aged in American bourbon oak barrels with a minor proportion aged in Spanish oak barrels used for sherry. A generous freshness and liveliness, with characteristic notes of vanilla and honey underpinned by a hint of spice.
|Aroma||Elegant and very well-balanced, it emerges refined and unctuous on notes of malted grains, citrus fruit (lemon) and liquorice. Upon aeration, linseed oil, flowers, clover and vanilla surface.|
|Finish||Long, with a lovely herbaceous dryness.|
|Palate||Mellow and slightly creamy, it remains faithful to the nose. Delicately woody, it also reveals notes of almond and honey.|
