Thomas Dakin's small batch gin is made with eleven vegetable herbs, including juniper, orange peel, English coriander, carrot, pepper, licorice and horseradish. The gin is named after Thomas Dakin, a pioneer who started producing the surprising quality gin in Warrington in the second half of the 18th century.
|Aroma||At first sniff, the overwhelming scent is of citrus – sherbet lemon and grapefruit. Then comes the spiciness of the cubeb, combined with earthy notes from the red cole.|
|Palate||A blast of fresh clean bitterness followed very quickly by a mellow sweetness (liquorice). It finishes with a horseradish bite and the pepper activates the tongue and the roof of the mouth.|
