Penfolds Max’s Cabernet Sauvignon is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948-1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and also allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow. Max’s Cabernet Sauvignon displays the Penfolds ‘stamp’ inspired by Max Schubert.
Colour : Dark reds, magenta core.
Nose : Red currants, cranberry and dried Italian herbs.
Palate : Cabernet line and length. Red, blue and black fruits melded with sweet spiced cinnamon. Vanilla Chai and cedar oak. Fine silky tannins add savoury balance and length to the palate.
Origin : Multi-regional blend, South Australia. From Wrattonbully, Padthaway, Coonawarra, McLaren Vale, and Port Lincoln.
Maturation : 12 months in new (10%) and seasoned French oak.
Variety : Cabernet Sauvignon.
